An introduction for all you lovely new people following our shop 💙

My name is Mikkel. In 2021 a lifelong dream came true when I opened my shop BON TON GOODS, operating my business in Malmö, just across the Sound from Copenhagen, and neighboring Lund here in Southern Sweden.

This dream has been many years in the making. Our name, BON TON, is inspired by a favorite tiny local shop on Nantucket Island, a favorite summer destination. The colorful touches to the shop are inspired by my youth visiting Santa Catalina. The island’s amazing flora and fauna will forever inspire me 🦋🪲

Our vision is to create a vibrant home for textiles, jewelry, ceramic, art, furniture, glassware, curiosities and decorative objects of a high standard, while providing excellent service and a warm welcome, all while connecting the many incredible makers and companies I have worked for in one hospitable and joyful location.

From the early 2000’s I have worked in the world arts, fashion, jewelry, and fine goods, with a deep, heartfelt passion for superb craftsmanship. In addition to running my shop, I create all my handmade jewelry in the Diamond District of Manhattan, NYC where I started a professional career 💎

Having worked in cities such as New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Copenhagen and Stockholm, I wanted to curate a brick-and-mortar shop that will inspire everyone with an eclectic selection of estate and contemporary goods. My everyday joy is spending time with clients in the shop, creating my own objects, designing spaces, sourcing beautiful treasures, and my passion lies in the details.

I am a triple citizen, happily married 🌈 and a proud dog daddy to four girls 🐾 I love cooking, nursing flowers, reading history, drawing and long walks by the beach 🌊
